Deepfreeze is celebrating some great new happenings this month:
We are very, very pleased to announce that we will be working on a documentary on the fabled NYC club Max's Kansas City, with terrific music from likes of Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and the New York Dolls and some incredible interviews, footage and photos of NYC artists such as Andy Warhol and Debbie Harry partying at the club in its heyday. We'll have more news on this project as it develops.
The Tribeca Film Festival was terrific! We saw some excellent films, including the hilarious French-Canadian high school comedy The Trotsky and a documentary on one of our guilty pleasures, the Canadian (hmmm, again?!) prog-rock gods Rush entitled Rush: Beyond The Lighted Stage. We attended the premiere where we saw both Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee, as well as other luminaries such as Sebastien Bach of Skid Row (who has some great interview segments in the film) and Kiefer Sutherland.
We also attended great Tribeca Talks with Sheila Nevins of HBO Documentary Films and artist/filmmaker Julian Schnabel. A truly super week!
Also, Stephen Ulrich of Big Lazy fame is continuing his scoring work on the HBO series Bored To Death, starring Jason Schwartzman and Ted Danson. We're looking forward to a whole new host of Big Lazy songs being used this season!
